Poets, Mavericks & Prophets

Poets, Mavericks & Prophets takes its first alchemical journey at the sacred site of Delphi, the navel of the world, with the greatest gratitude to the gods Apollo, Athena and the ever-present Gaea, Mother Earth for this exceptional honour and celestial synchronicity in granting me sanctuary and allowing for an ad hoc performance of this offering – a guided oracular divination designed to act as a vehicle for a personal prophecy. An answer to a question that one’s heart most desires to be revealed.

I recorded the session at the Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia, which leads to the Temple of Apollo, and in front of the Tholos of Delphi, on Saturday, 22 October 2022, just before noon, between the hours of Sun and Venus – with the planet Venus cazimi, in the heart of the Sun – at the very end of the Venus-ruled sign of Libra. This time, the planetary event that takes place every nine months has an added and exceptional significance – as it also marks a shift in the cycle of Venus, the first cazimi taking place in Libra since the late 19th century. An amplification of all Venusian qualities, in the element of air, embossed in the golden rays of the Sun, these are the cazimi’s gifts. And they did do good for this Libra, for other than the mild mountain wind, a few cars, and one family slightly distracting in the co-creation of this recording (while I was assisted by the local flora & fauna) – the sound is of fairly good quality. Considering that the session was shot out in the open, in a temple usually full of tourists, and beside a generally busy road, it was a small miracle to be able to do this.
