Notes On Alchemical Psychology is a series of texts dedicated to personal creative therapeutic work, merging the old ways & the new. This one is an oracular astro-musing on the Saturn-Neptune conjunction at zero degrees of Aries, the very beginning of the zodiac wheel — its fiery impact on the Soul of the World, as well as the ways it could well burn our own.
There has been much said in astrological circles on the meeting of Saturn and Neptune at zero Aries, at long last, after they both danced around this point throughout the year 2025, boldly ingressing into the sign of the Ram, one after another, then sliding back into the twin cities of Pisces, for one last disintegration of matter on the Ocean floor, a farewell to its blue depths and endlessly nebulous ways.
The planet of form and boundaries, Saturn, meets the planet of enchantment and dreams, Neptune, just after a solar eclipse transpires, in a completely different environment now, in a sign where the Sun is exalted, and action required, so a merger of opposites occurs in our lives, born out of the darkness of the void, somewhere in our natal charts. A place where we might gain a cornucopia of riches, insights hereto unaccessible to us, or indeed lose the very sense of being grounded in the world, separate yet collectively involved, as unseen walls close in, and our aspirations become vapour in the raging fires of the first sign of the zodiac, which demands ALL our attention.
It pays to think of what we would do if we lived on an active volcano. A glorious, welcoming, fecund landscape that could turn on us in a blink of an eye, without any input of our own, as it is the nature of all things lava-like to engulf and incinerate whatever stands in their way.
What are our daily choices, our comfortable abode, our escape plans? Where do we land if everything explodes in a blink of an eye? And how do we live peacefully, nevertheless, enjoying our journeys and our lucky streaks, knowing that the very ground we built our castle on could shift in a day?
The doors between spheres are opening wide, and we move through them, whether we are readied for this or not, just by the virtue of being alive on the planet late February of 2026, downloading the software of a cycle not seen since the fifth millennia BC (say the fresh AI calculations).
Which is a terrifying thought, in itself. And incredibly exciting.
Retune, reset, redial. This one is a burning horn on a unicorn. And it will be with us throughout the year, in its singularity.
What is coming is an unknown, but we had already glimpsed the shape of the future last year, its pitfalls and pit stops. It is made of fire and stone, a feverish dream of heroism and personal achievement, and it is ours for the taking, if we learn how to be present in each moment of time as if it were our last.
