In my mind, some of the greatest storytellers today are online, reading cards, predominantly Tarot, creating wonderful universes and, at the same time, offering a necessary public service in the form of soul nourishment through narrative entertainment.
Sure, there are plenty of tricksters and scammers — wherever there is even a notion of “easy money”, there will be those — but there are also many maestros and maestras, who, in another life, in a another time, would have been community oracles, and revered instead of ridiculed and marginalised.
Then, there were the periods in history when the magic folk were actively persecuted. So, let’s welcome this moment, when, at least temporarily, the ones dedicated to this chosen creative endeavour (or rather co-creative patterning) are allowed to shine through.
In Oracles, a new series I started recently on Poets, Mavericks & Prophets YouTube Channel, I join their ranks for a few fun rides, in my own way. I begin with a combo of Tarot & an oracle deck. I long have been a cartomancer, myself, since the age of thirteen — when I first realised you can read a pack of cards, not just play them. That fascinated me, and I never looked back.
However, and primarily, I am interested in the art form of divination, itself, as a vehicle for storytelling, and especially — vice-versa, storytelling as divination. Alchemical storytelling. A message in a bottle. For some, a story to ponder on at length, for others, one to unlock a very personal mystery. And for the rest, merely a bottle — no message to be seen, floating on the vastness of an online Ocean. Otherwise known as — one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.
Do note: messages are hidden in envelopes (and encryptions) for a reason.
Poets, Mavericks & Prophets presents its Oracles series, dedicated to celebrating alchemical storytelling, poetic inspiration, and the divinatory co-creative spirit of the art of the Tarot.

Disclaimer – Please note that my Oracle/Tarot stories are storytelling art, offered as philosophical and creative inspiration, as well as entertainment. Although I am a psychologist by education, the material within them is not therapy or substitute for therapy, nor should it be considered as guide to life decisions. However, these stories are dedicated as temenos, a sacred space, for accessing the therapeutic numinous — in hope of being of good service to one’s soul in exploring the creative potentials of each moment in time.
